First, thank you all for still being so supportive and encouraging even though I’m still trying to get the hang of daily updates. But I’ll tell ya what…even though I don’t update daily (or since last week 🥴) I still stick to my commitments for daily movement because I know this crew is here. Long story short, I am at 100% since my last update for daily steps and have been putting in the reps in the gym. One new item on the training list has been focusing more intentionally on heart rate and recovery during interval training. I want to incorporate more specific and tracked variable heart rate training moving forward and see my recovery time improve. For a 40 second jog to sprint interval (treadmill takes about 20 seconds to get up to sprint speed) my heart rate increases to 169 bpm and has taken anywhere from 110 seconds to 138 seconds to recover back to 115bpm. Has anyone worked on this specifically and have any insight? I’ve done intervals as part of workouts for many years, but it’s been forever since I’ve tracked it like this, so I’m learning.
