Mindset: PROGRESS prog·​ress | \ ˈprä-grəs 1: movement forward or toward a place 2: the process of improving or developing something over a period of time I first engaged the F40 in May of 2020 to see what this “Defining DadBod” business was all about. It was the 2nd F40 if I recall. I have spent a lot of time in these exam rooms, normally 2-3x a week and I was on between a dozen and 15 meds to control some significant health issues; some just the luck of the draw but more were on me, how I was living. Within a couple of weeks of working the program I decided to go all in. I engaged Alex as a trainer and health coach for a year. I had an inkling, more like God whispering to me- “Get ready”. Little did I know how kind God was to wake me from my slumber. I got after it. I worked at it everyday, sometimes a couple times. I was seeing the changes and my health began to improve. * Then the other shoe dropped. A new & serious health issue developed * The next shoe. Dangerously out of control teen seeks to destroy our marriage * The next shoe Family Crisis God, I asked, why me? Why now? A hard spell was starting to look brighter, and then it crashed right into a tree at 80 MPH. God responded, “why not you?” Fleetwood Mac actually brought the message thru the song “What makes you think you’re the one” but I heard it loud and clear. You, me… all of us are in the cycle. Heading in, Coming out or in the middle of the fire. None of us are immune, those planets aren’t orbiting us; we are just little specs in a vast universe. Except we’re not. Look around. Maybe like me you are married with kids. Maybe you’re a son, sister, or an aunt. Maybe you’re world has become small thru the years. Maybe you are simply a friend or a neighbor. Or maybe you are just you. So, we do the work here. We deal with the struggles and the pain. We don’t quit. Every single effort, no matter how slight matters. We are intentional as hell because it’s not just a line… “every effort compounds the last” and strung together in this is the victory Jesus promised us. We daily fight the enemy and his minions to the death, whoever and whatever they may be. We have to be ready and capable for those people in our universe, no matter how big or small. We have the ability to be better, not perfect- but better. We say “1% better, everyday” around here and that works. I, we can do that today. If not for me, for my people… and your people- and I need you to do the same. I just may be up against it and really need you one day… and I need you strong. I’ll do my part today. We, my friends, are victors. 👊🏻
