Odd thing happened today… I went to check Facebook and got a message that my account was disabled. Upon further review, I don’t think I have any recourse. Potential violations: I have an alias name on Facebook as of recently and I have another account with an alias name, different email. I make it a point not to post things that are political or contentious. Occasionally I share these kinds of articles to Only me, for my own reference, but not in a public forum (this is not due to fear of Facebook, it’s a personal preference and wisdom). As stated in the form, they sometimes disable accounts without warning, and there is no recourse if it is a severe violation. 🤔🤔 Aside from the fact that Facebook is becoming a bunch of control freaks, I have no idea what this is about. I certainly haven’t done anything to warrant a shut down of 14 years of information. In other news, at least I have this platform! (and tinkering with a few others). Now we need to get more folks on here! I’ve been slowly shutting down or archiving most of my Facebook anyway… I’ve been getting so sick of the drama and people issues on there (I have a very well curated feed and a friends list full of lots of amazing people, but Facebook has a way of always connecting me with other people and situations and media). It’s a drain. I recently prayed that the Lord would help me to limit social media and media in general. It is a bit shocking, though. And I won’t be able to retrieve my stuff. 😕 I’ve tried submitting that form multiple times, using my real name and alias name, to no avail. I tried logging into my other account several times and that one seems to be shut down, too. Was Facebook becoming threatened by my influence and streak of nonconformity along with my large friends list and good track record of many different people interacting with my posts over the years? Perhaps I hid one of their ads or blocked one of their advertisers one too many times (I do that like a mad person, day in and day out, and it even prompted them to send me a survey that is only sent to a limited number of people regarding ad preferences and such).
