For most folks…Easter has become a celebration of Spring…a time for nicer weather, familism, picnics, egg hunts, rabbits, candy, chocolate, jelly beans, a brief bit of religion to appease the conscious for a bit, Spring Break, new outfits, an annual or biannual trip to a church, a little time to take Jesus out of the box for a yearly checkup, a quick insta pop a post on the chat snap on social tik talk about God/Easter/Church(w/pictures) for your social imagery…etc. Commercialism capitalizes on Easter…announcing sales, encouraging a Godless society to show up for church in their Sunday best…and there is nothing wrong with most of this stuff…for we ourselves participate in many of these things with our own families with much joy and happiness. Yet…once again the world/Satan has captured a major doctrine…resurrection…replacing truth with fiction/fun/fantasy that crept in over time unaware…making the truth of the resurrection useless to the world for fifty one more Sundays each year! B/c of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our faith is not useless! Our sins are paid for! We have a glorious eternity ahead of us with our Matchless Savior! Folks…the tomb is empty so we don’t have to be! Hallelujah…He lives! This is the gospel message…the most glorious message ever proclaimed!
