Happy Sunday folks! I hope everyone had a most amazing weekend, at the very least I hope it was restful and restorative. Sharing a video I came across that had some good info on nutrition but that isn’t solely the reason I’m sharing it. When we seek to make changes in our diet and lifestyle the easiest changes to make are the quality of the ingredients you use in your food, the quality and intelligence of your exercise program (or just get moving), and the foundation stuff; like sleep, supplements, etc… You don’t initially have to start changing everything, or depriving yourself…. Just start ADDING good things. For example: You like whip cream and dammit at yer age and with how hard you work you deserve a dollop of flipping whip cream 😁 there’s a lot of types to choose from but consider: homemade: cream, vanilla, and an easily adjustable sugar ratio OR whipped hydrogenated vegetable oil (aka cool whip) Easy change: if ya gonna eat whip cream, go for the good stuff. Grass fed butter vs regular butter vs margarine or spread or vegetable oils. Consider this: fats matter! And the types of fats we consume matter. The farther something gets from its natural state, the more processed it is… the less nutrient dense it’s going to be and in some cases could even be harmful if consumed in large amounts. I know some oils that sit ok with my digestion as long as I’m not frying with it. Coconut oil tears my gut up when it’s heated, might not do so for everyone but when cooking I keep it simple. Eat simply, substitute better ingredients, fuel well and as you add good things, as you seek what better looks like for you personally…. Marvel with me at how as we begin to focus on those good adds and changes, the things we no longer need or want begin to fall away and a better you begins to emerge. Before you know it, a year passes and you are ten pounds lighter with minimal effort. But there’s something in you that says, I want more of this. I can do more. Then you hear: you are made of sterner stuff than you know, choose your hard, no excuses, you got this! And so you add more good things and begin to master yourself in the areas that need work. The sweetest surprise in all this has been how Gods spirit within me responds to this mindset shift in me; He is gifting me with passion and strength, reigniting my joy in the journey, and drawing close to urge me forward while wrapping me in grace and safeguarding my heart. I remember last year pondering some things God was laying on my heart and as I shared them here @Mark expounded on the words roiling in my head and really help drive home what God was saying to me. Time is a fleeting thing, we need to make the most of our time here, and cultivate moments when heaven touches earth. (Aion chronos and kairos) Now is the appointed time. Change the easy stuff first ♥️ (11 min mark for the meatiest portion of video) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NXkdy9KDC1Q
