In the age of technology, it’s almost inevitable that the moments we capture — the moments we shine a spotlight on - are elevated in importance…even though it’s moments like this (behind the scenes) that are really most important. This is my wife making small loaves of bread to give to volunteers as a small, unexpected token of gratitude and recognition. Her homemade sourdough is a labor of love AND it’s delicious. And these people who help us work with children on Sundays are earning their carbs! The pinnacle moments. Like a celebratory Christmas programs, getting pied in the face when the kids memorize the books of the Bible, or even genuinely happy family pictures in front of Christmas decorations—those moments are built on hard work, sincerity, and love. It’s difficult to capture those things with a spot light of our hearts (and our media), but it’s important to try! I’m looking forward to talking through this in our mindset Monday today!
